I have been working with glass for approximately seven years. I began with stained glass, moved on to sandblasted glass and finally reached working with kiln formed or fused glass for the last five years. Most of my glass education has taken place in workshops run by various glass artists. I have had the good fortune of being taught by Brock Craig, Avery Anderson, Steve Klein, Jane Bruce, Roger Thomas, Richard LaLonde, Judith Conway and Kevin O'Toole.
Working with glass provides me with an escape from the harsher realities of life. There is something about glass that is both joyful and peaceful. Taking an idea through the stages from abstract thought to finished piece is quite rewarding. It always gives me something to look forward to.
Currently, I am spending as much time in my studio as my life allows. In addition to working on my own pieces, I have been co-teaching some introductory fused glass classes.
