Karen Freedman has been a working artist for 35 years and painting with encaustic for the past four years. She has a background in jewelry design and graphic design in addition to the fine arts.
“From the first moment I saw paintings in this medium, I was hooked. The use of encaustic enhances the effects that I can create with texture and color. I am drawn to its warmth, to its tactile quality. I love the physical demands of working with wax and I am challenged by its constraints.”
Karen has exhibited both locally and nationally. She is a member of the International Encaustic Artists and has had extensive training in encaustic for educators at R&F Paints.
